Ruralinvest is a toolkit developed for 16 years by FAO Investment Centre and it has been successfully tested and implemented in many developing countries of Latin America, Africa and Middle East.

In Mongolia

Ruralinvest toolkit is available in seven official languages of the United Nations and it has been translated into Mongolian for the first time.

Toolkit

RuralInvest is a “toolkit” to help prepare and evaluate small- and medium-size agricultural and rural investment projects and comprises online and  inhouse training manuals, training materials and computer software.

The advantage of this toolkit is that it gives the opportunity to develop and evaluate investment project and business plan in integrated form in short term.

Ruralinvest goal

The investment project of rural small and medium scale businesses

Defining

Define the current situation of the group or community, taking into account a range of aspects, including the location of the community, environmental and socioeconomic and cultural;

Preparing

Use this definition of the current situation to reach agreement on key problems and potentials faced by the community or group;

Developing

Develop a local development plan that defines priorities for action according to the needs of the applicants

Approving

Identify possible investments that would contribute to carrying out and achieving this plan.
